These terms cover using this copy of Spare. They're short because Spare is simple: it reads your accounts and shows you where your money goes.
Spare is open-source software that each household runs for itself. This copy is run by the person who invited you; there is no company behind it.
Spare only reads. It can never move money, pay bills or change anything at your bank. Budgets, goals and categories are there to help you see your spending; they aren't financial advice.
Only people whose email the person running this copy has allowed can create an account. They can remove your access at any time, and you can stop using Spare whenever you like.
Spare connects to banks through Enable Banking. When you connect, you agree at your own bank to let Spare read your accounts until a date you choose, and you can withdraw that at your bank at any time. Enable Banking's terms of service apply to the connection.
Banks and Enable Banking can change or stop their service, and banks limit how often Spare can fetch new data, so connections can't be guaranteed.
Spare shows what your bank sends, and banks can be late or wrong. Categories, recurring payments and forecasts are Spare's best guess. For anything that matters, your bank's own records are the ones to trust.
Keep the devices that hold your passkeys locked. Whoever runs this copy keeps its hosting account and encryption key safe, because anyone with them can read everything in it.
Spare is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. As far as the law allows, neither the person running this copy nor the people who write Spare are liable for losses from using it, including decisions made from what it shows, missing or wrong data, or data lost.
Your data is yours. How it's stored and who can see it is in the privacy policy.
Spare's code is released under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0. Anyone can run, change and share it; if you run a changed version for other people, you must offer them its source code. The code is on GitHub.
When these terms change, the date at the top changes too. Danish law applies to these terms.
